VECHAIN builds up state traceability platform in China

Since the introduction of its first guidelines in 2004, the Chinese government has focused heavily on improving surveillance, traceability and security of its national food and beverage industry. The focus on this critical sector has only grown since then, whereby the industry benchmarks successively increase the current guidelines to ensure high standards and to eliminate cases of fraud and food-related diseases.

In recent years, the focus has been on the integration of top technologies such as blockchain, IoT and big data, with the regional governments being commissioned with the development of extensive systems that include these elements.

In January 2020, the plan for the development of rural areas for digital agriculture (2019-2025) was published by the Ministry of Agriculture. It found that blockchain technology should be adopted and implemented in order to meet the requirements for the development of the agricultural sector. At the beginning of 2021, rice, millet, sunflowers, cattle and lamb of the onnuid Banner region were approved as products with geographical labeling.

Accordingly, Vechain's blockchain solution is continuously applied to these products.
