From Stuttgart to Antigua: A sailing adventure at the highest level!
Emmendingen, Deutschland - The Hoffmeister family celebrated their return from an exciting sailing adventure after 18 months. Originally started from Kiel, they have covered 5,000 nautical miles, which they led through the Sits from Gibraltar to the Mediterranean. With its two-year sailing trip, the family not only explored new horizons, but also celebrated their Christmas together at home, as the Badische Zeitung . For the Hoffmeister, the trip was a unique opportunity to discover the world over the water and spend valuable family time.
A completely different but non-stop impressive adventure has experienced 28-year-old Nicolas Manthos from Stuttgart. This sailing man crossed the Atlantic on his 18-foot boat "1/4 Life Crisis". After 30 days at sea he finally saw the country - the Caribbean island of Antigua. Manthos' love for sailing flared up after an encounter with the book "Alone against the Wind", and his pragmatism led him to equip his sailboat himself, although he had never been sailed before. His adventure began in the Mediterranean and led him through challenging conditions that he mastered with meticulous preparation. When he reached the Caribbean, he had already forged plans to carry out the return journey himself after he had found that no buyer could be found for his little boat in the Caribbean. This describes the Yacht .
From returning to Europe through preparations for new adventures - Nicolas Manthos plans to sail around the world with a new boat. After an exciting first trip and inspired by the freedom that the solo sailing offers, he relies on his dream of his own speed record in a 40-foot yacht. His unbroken enthusiasm and the willingness to accept all possible challenges are admirable and support the idea that the sea always has new adventures.
