University of Hohenheim gives prices and scholarships - this Academicus 2024
On June 28, 2024, the traditional dies took place at the University of Hohenheim, in which prices and scholarships were awarded with a total value of over 90,000 euros. The awards were awarded by the university, sponsors and donors and distinguished outstanding achievements and special commitment to studying, research and volunteer work. In total, the following prices and scholarships were awarded:
- The award of the University Council for special student engagement was awarded to Emma Kraft and Dominik Becker, who were characterized for their active integration into student bodies and groups of the university. In addition, the student group "Kulturgruppe Hohenheim" was awarded for its cultural commitment.
- The Hohenheim teaching price received jun.-Prof. Dr. Chang Liu for its excellent didactics and innovative teaching methods in the field of epigenetics.
- The Science Award of the University Association Hohenheim e.V. went to Dr. Lucas Kettner for his dissertation on the subject of "The Potential of Diamine Oxidases for the Treatment of Histamine Intolerance".
- The Study Award of the University Association Hohenheim e.V. was awarded to Kathrin Scharsich, Nathalie Kinting and Peter Rumpel for their outstanding master's theses.
- The Herzog-von-Württemberg scholarship enabled Lydia Helfers, Wiebke Renz, Clara Erna Conde de Moura Sätzler and Alicia Stahl a research stay abroad.
- The Professor Dr. Walther Bolz Prize was to Dr. Kimberly Schmied for her work "A RNA replicon system for investigating promising inhibitors against Feline Coronaviren".
- The Professor Wild-Award shared Dr. Pascal Moll and Dr. Youfeng Zhang for their dissertations in the field of nutritional sciences.
- The Lions Club Promotion Prize enabled Erica Cristina Alves OuVerney and Luana Beatriz Martin's Valero Viana to study at the University of Hohenheim.
- The Hutter Young Researcher Paper Award was awarded to Julia Lanzl for her work on the subject of "Segmentation Preference and Technostress: Integrators 'VS segmenters' Experience of Technology-IndUced Demands and Related Spill-over Effects".
- The NaturElife Sustainability Prize honored Angelina Stockinger, Laura Störzer and Natalie Peters for their master's theses in the field of sustainable land use systems in the tropics and subtropics.
- The DAAD funding award went to Dr. Shahin Ghaziani for his extraordinary achievements as part of the doctoral program "Global Food Security".
- The Julius-Paul-Versch-Siegler scholarships received Alexandra Eichenhofer, Luis Nollenberger and Marius Fischer for their study visits in China, Singapore and Mexico.
- The Helmut AuRzen Scholarships supported Ann-Kathrin Draxler and Kira Annik Poppendieck in their research stays in Switzerland and Austria.
- The Dr. Hermann Eiselen's scholarship program enabled Kristin Stadelmeyer, Acamsiri Lormphongs, Esther Amankwah, Immaculata Okreke, Prosper Loh Ful, Elgiriya Withharanage Kushala Amila Nuwanthi, Anne Frida Schlösinger, Fiona Hasenbach, Franziska Mauthe and Melissa Cristina Morcote Martinez research stays in different countries in the south.
The University of Hohenheim, its sponsors and founders were thanked for their generous support and appreciation of the outstanding achievements and the commitment of the award winners.

The dies Academicus and the awarding of the prices took place in the Otto Rettenmaier-Audimax at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart.
