Technik-Treff in Esslingen: New Makerspace will soon open its doors!

From February 2024, a new Makerspace will open at Milky Way 17 in Esslingen, which is to act as a meeting point for adults interested in technology. The association Makerspace Esslingen, which was founded in 2021 during Coronapandemia, plans to offer workshops and open evenings that are also accessible to non-members. The main topics of the workshops include 3-D printing, programming, electronics and cyber security. In addition, a competition team with the name "Team Zwiebel" will take part in CTF events (Capture the Flag), such as the website of the Makerspace Esslingen informed.

In the past few months, the Makerspace has already carried out various workshops and events. A training of the securityskills in the picogym took place on December 7th. A workshop in January had to be canceled due to the renovation work, while an exchange round via the open source home automation system Home Assistant took place on November 2. In addition, a workshop was offered on October 5 on the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and the browser functionality.

In September, the participants learned at the workshop on game development with blender and Godot how they can create a simple 3D game. An open evening also took place in August, which focused on solving CTFS. In addition, the Makerspace was present with a stand at the Schwörfest on July 6th at the Agnesbrücke. The Makerspace Esslingen continues to call for new members and supporters.
