Consulting coaching at the Realschule Baden-Baden: Discover opportunities in MINT professions
In an exciting educational project, the event Coaching4future will take place from October 14th to 16, 2024 at the Realschule in Baden-Baden, the pupils for professions in the MINT subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology). Two tech coaches will give young people an insight into current social future issues and associated professional opportunities. The focus will be on an experiment workshop to solve a fictitious murder, which should encourage students to try out scientific methods and techniques. The program is organized by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation, Südwestmetall and the Federal Employment Agency.
The MINT professions are becoming increasingly popular in the Baden-Württemberg region. In Stuttgart, the heart of the Baden-Württemberg industry, the technology sector offers a wide range of career opportunities. The automotive industry, mechanical engineering and IT industry need more and more specialists, and initiatives such as Coaching4future aim to strengthen the growth of skilled workers and to interest students at an early stage for technical professions.
In recent years there have been several studies that emphasize the need to win young people for MINT courses. Baden-Württemberg increasingly relies on innovative educational formats to increase interest and optimally prepare the students for their professional career. Special programs such as "MINT-EC" or the MINT regions work together to promote talent and to specifically train trainees to the needs of industry.
The following table gives an overview of the MINT professions in Baden-Württemberg, in terms of training positions and the most frequently requested professions:
professional field

computer science | 45,000 € | 3,500 |
mechanical engineering | 46,000 € | 4.200 |
electrical engineering | 40,000 € | 3,000 |
medical technology | 42,000 € | 2.800 |
The commitment of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation and the Regional Directorate of the Employment Agency underlines the importance of such programs: The training of the next generation is crucial to deal with the challenges of digital change and the shortage of skilled workers in technology affinity. Incidentally, Coaching4future is not only the focus in Baden-Baden, but is part of a nationwide initiative to promote MINT formation, which is also carried out in other cities and regions of Baden-Württemberg.
at a time when the world needs increasingly mechanized and innovative solutions, such events are not only significant for the individual career planning of the young people, but also for the economic future of the region.
