Criminal hunting in Eigelingen: Coaches make you want MINT professions

The career choice is a pioneering decision for young people. The Coaching4future educational program offers support to help you with orientation. On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, two coaches will present the tasks in MINT professions (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology) to the pupils at the community school in Eigeltingen. An entertaining hands-on lecture is presented and there are many technology exposes to touch and try out. In experimental workshops, the young people playfully solve a fictional murder case or clarify an environmental crime. The event is supported by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation, the Südwestmetall employers' association and the Baden-Württemberg Regional Directorate of the Federal Employment Agency as part of the school professional orientation offer for the specialists of tomorrow.

The lack of specialists in technical and scientific professions is already noticeable and will probably be even greater in the coming years, especially in Baden-Württemberg with its many industrial and high-tech companies. Often the diversity of the apprenticeships and subjects is not known or young people have no idea what they do. It is therefore important to show the professional perspectives in the MINT area even before graduation. Coaching4future would like to do this on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the community school Eigeltingen.

The event includes an interactive lecture in which the students learn to try out and understand technology, as well as workshops on forensics and environmental protection. As part of the interactive lecture, technologies are presented that provide insights into different MINT professions. The school classes themselves can choose which subject area should be treated. The workshops offer young people the opportunity to use forensic methods to clarify a fictional murder case and to solve tasks in the MINT area to save the environment.

Further information on Coaching4future and printable images for free editorial use are available on the program of the program.

The choice of career is an important decision for young people. Initiative such as Coaching4future help you give you an insight into MINT professions and offer you the opportunity to test your interests and strengths and find suitable areas. In Baden-Württemberg, a location of many industrial and high-tech companies, the need for specialists in these areas is particularly high. It is therefore important to inform young people at an early stage about the professional perspectives in the MINT area and to offer them orientation.
