In a small Eastern Polish village during the late 19th century, a young woman named Jagna comes into the spotlight. Their history plays against the background of gossip, seasonal changes and deeply rooted traditions that shape the life of the villagers. But the real heart of her fate is the strong patriarchal system in which it lives.
Jagna, promised by her father to the most powerful farmer in the village, sees himself in a forced position. However, her true love applies to Antek, the peasant's rebellious son. This triangle ratio means that Jagna becomes a men's game ball. Nevertheless, it uses the inner struggle as a drive and decides to defend itself against social expectations. She would like to determine what her life should look like - an impressive example of feminist parts in history.

The director of Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, known for the success of "Loving Vincent", has come together again and created a visual masterpiece. This time you bring the story of Jagna to life through the technology of the handmade oil painting. With over 100 artists: Inside you have implemented the moving and dreamy narrative through a unique visual language that puts the emotions and subtleties of the action in the foreground.
The narrative is also an adaptation of the Romans "The Peasants" by Władysław Reymont, which was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. The spectator can look forward to an artistic journey that leads through the different seasons and capture both the hard realities of life in the village and the inner conflicts of Jagna.
This film, with a term of 116 minutes and an age rating of FSK 12, is not only a visual spectacle, but also an important discourse on gender roles and the challenges that women have to face in patriarchal societies.
