Large construction site B 3: Traffic collapse between Ettlingen and Neumalsch!
An important infrastructure project takes shape: On behalf of the Karlsruhe regional council, the B 3 lane ceiling between Ettlingen and Neumalsch will be extensively renewed. This measure, which started in the summer of 2024, is carried out in several construction phases to increase traffic safety and improve driving comfort. Like the Karlsruhe regional council in a Press release of April 29, 2024 reported, the B 3 / L 608 junction has been renovated in Neumalsch since November 4, 2024. The upper 12 centimeters of the asphalt layer on the L 608 and the upper 20 centimeters on the B 3 are renewed.
The first construction phase, which is to be completed on November 18, 2024, brings considerable traffic impairments. During the changeover to the second construction phase (3b), drivers have to expect closures and diversions. The L 608, which is fully blocked south of the knot, is particularly affected to convert two bus stops barrier -free. The detour for vehicle traffic leads via L 67 (Murgtalstraße) and Daimlerstraße in the Malsch industrial area. Pedestrians and cyclists can continue to use the diversion route from the first construction phase.
financing and scope of the construction work
The total costs for this extensive road construction project amount to around 3.5 million euros. This sum is borne both by the federal government, which is responsible for the renovation of the B 3, as well as the state of Baden-Württemberg, which finances the renovation of the L 608. The Karlsruhe Regional Council has already announced that the road users provide the exact closures and diversions before the start of the third construction phase and asks for understanding for the inevitable stress.
The Karlsruhe regional council itself is a central state authority in Baden-Württemberg, which is responsible for numerous administrative tasks. With an annual budget of over 80 million euros and around 1,740 employees, the authority plays a decisive role in regional administration. The government President Sylvia Felder has headed the authority since April 2019 and is responsible for the implementation of the legal tasks, such as wikipedia reported.
outlook on completion
The entire measure is expected to be completed in mid -December 2024. The renewal of the lane ceiling is not only a question of traffic safety, but also an investment in the future of infrastructure in the region. Citizens can look forward to a noticeable improvement in road conditions, which is important for both motorized traffic and local public transport. The Karlsruhe regional council will continue to provide current information about the progress of the work in order to keep residents and road users up to date.
