Future of building: Experience innovative upcycling in Stuttgart!
Stuttgart, Deutschland - An exciting project for reuse of formwork elements from the construction of the new Stuttgart main station takes shape! An interdisciplinary team of universities in Constance, Stuttgart and Karlsruhe has developed groundbreaking concepts in the past two years to set ecological impulses in the construction sector. Despite the known challenges of thermal exploitation, the exhibition "Designed from Shells" presents innovative approaches to sustainable material use. This has been presented in the Gallery of the Stadtpalais-Museum for Stuttgart since December 5, as stuttgart.de
The exhibition not only looks at the aesthetic and functional aspects of reuse, but also deals with important topics such as structural engineering, law and ecological balance. The aim is to show the practical suitability of Re-FROM and the specific challenges of upcycling in large format. Visitors can use plans, photographs and models to explore various possible uses of the formwork elements in so-called real laboratories in Baden-Württemberg. A special highlight is an interactive exhibition station that enables visitors to experience the dimensions of the reused components in a scale of 1: 1 and to implement their own virtual construction projects, informs Stadtpalais .
The exhibition is open until January 26, 2025 and offers the opportunity every day from Tuesday to Sunday to immerse yourself in the world of sustainable building material use. It is an exciting initiative that not only promotes creative thinking, but also takes concrete steps towards environmental protection in construction.
