Stadtwerke Bietigheim: Court judgment shocked former employees!
Bietigheim-Bissingen, Deutschland - A dramatic court dispute has made the Bietigheim-Bissingen (SWBB) in the headlines. The energy supplier went to court three former employees to blame them for alleged damage of almost 13 million euros. As Stuttgart newspaper was reported, however rejected and the employees were acquitted. Despite the clear judgment, the negotiation costs and possible consequences for the employees left a bitter aftertaste.
background and follow
The legal dispute that the municipal utility brought into the spotlight was originally triggered by errors in the procurement of gas and electricity. The SWBB tried to pass on responsibility for this million damage to four employees. The judge was surprised when the indictment did not bring his supposed advantages and decided in favor of the former employees. Nevertheless, the SWBB is now facing high legal fees - the employees have to pay up to 52,000 euros for their own defense, possibly headed for bankruptcy. According to the Stuttgart News one of the accused even had to expect a termination without notice before the process started.
The critical question remains: How could this colossal mistake occur on the part of the SWBB? Instead of showing responsibility, the company seems to be determined in a selfish cycle. But despite the lawsuit obtained, the financial worries remain for the former employees, and there is no mutual end in sight. This situation could bring some of the employees to the limits of their financial possibilities, a development that both the municipal utilities and the employees concerned certainly did not want to strive for.
