University of Mannheim shines in the DFG funding atlas!

The University of Mannheim has shown impressive performance in the current funding atlas of the German Research Foundation (DFG)! In the economics category, the university secures the sensational second place among the German universities, which have raised most DFG thirds. Between 2020 and 2022, an incredible 33.5 million euros flowed into the research projects of the Mannheim scientists!

The funding amount of 10.4 million euros in economics, which is only exceeded by the University of Bonn, should be particularly noted. In social and behavioral sciences, the University of Mannheim also achieved the fourth largest amount of funding in the nationwide comparison with 26 million euros. These funds are crucial because they enable the financing of numerous research projects and position the University of Mannheim as an important player in the scientific landscape.

strong research performance and specialization

"This year's results once again illustrate the impressive research performance of the University of Mannheim in the economic and social sciences," emphasizes Prof. Dr. Jutta Mata, Vice -Rector for Research. The excellent placement is the result of a clear specialization in these disciplines, which enables the university to initiate pioneering research projects and successfully acquire third -party funds.

The DFG supports the “Accounting for Transparency” Collaborative Research and “Economic Perspectives on social challenges”. In addition, the DFG has been financing the “Statistical Modeling in Psychology” graduate college since 2017 and the research group for 5157, which deals with language processing. These programs are proof of the innovative strength and the influence of the University of Mannheim in the German research landscape.
