Multimedia work on local research are also awarded in the "Digital Local History" category. Local researchers can apply via websites, web databases or social media accounts that deal with topics of local historical research. "I am pleased that the price category was so well received and I'm looking forward to the submitted work," said Petra Olschowski. "Voluntary local research is put into a contemporary light, the topics of local history are made accessible to a larger group and new groups of applicants are addressed."

The state prize for local research is awarded to independent individual work based on their own research. The work should deal with the following topics in connection with Baden-Württemberg:

State Prize for Local Research

The Ministry of Science, Research and Art awards the State Prize for local history in cooperation with the Baden-Württemberg State Committee for Home Care. The goal: to appreciate the services of voluntary local researchers and to give them public recognition that they deserve. The state prize consists of a first prize of 5,000 euros, two second prices of 2,500 euros each, a price for youth development and a student award of 2,500 euros each and a digital price for local research in the amount of 2,500 euros.

The State Toto-Lotto GmbH Baden-Württemberg supports the state award, in particular the new price category of local research digitally, with a larger sum. A voluntary jury of experts in domestic care and research decides on the award. The Application documents are available online.
