The new advertising campaign The Nerd Stand: Baden-Württemberg advertises young MINT talents

Baden-Württemberg starts the new advertising campaign The Nerd Stand aims to inspire young people for studying MINT in the southwest of German and to keep them as specialists in the region in the long term. The campaign, which is under the motto "Best Studies. Best Life. Best Jobs", is aimed at Generation Z and emphasizes the attractiveness of Baden-Württemberg as a place of life and work.

The Minister of Science Petra Olschowski emphasized the importance of natural and engineering professions for the future design when the campaign was presented. She praised the excellent study conditions at the universities in Baden-Württemberg and the diverse career opportunities in business, science and research. The diversity in MINT subjects should be promoted by the targeted address of prospective students from various population groups, especially women and people without academic training in the family.

The campaign should not only help to counteract the nationwide decline in registration in MINT subjects, but also to address the still existing shortage of skilled workers. With 5.6 percent of gross domestic product, Baden-Württemberg invests more than any other federal state in research and development and thus offers optimal conditions for successful MINT training and career.

The advertising campaign The Nerd Stand is not only promoted for technical courses and the Baden-Württemberg study location, but also an appeal to all relevant actors from business, society and politics is directed to promote MINT professions. The campaign should therefore not only strengthen the attractiveness of Baden-Württemberg as an innovative and future-oriented location, but also contribute to the long-term securing of specialists in the region.
