#lieber teaching office: New campaign promotes teacher studies
Stuttgart, June 19, 2023-The Ministry of Science, Research and Art in Baden-Württemberg starts a new advertising campaign to win more young people for studying teaching. The successful #Lieber teaching office will work with a new design and slogan in the future to convey the social relevance of the teacher profession. In particular, teachers for mathematics, computer science, physics, electrical engineering, art, music and religion are urgently sought.
The Minister of Science Petra Olschowski said when the campaign in Stuttgart was presented that the goal was to inspire young people for the versatile study and to show that the teaching profession was particularly meaningful. After completing the conclusion, an apprenticeship course offers a varied and interesting professional field with a safe income.
The #Lieber teaching office, which had already started in 2018, has proven to be successful. According to a survey of first semesters in the winter semester 2022/2023, more than a third of the students know the campaign in the teacher courses. Over half of those who know the campaign feel addressed by her. The Ministry of Science is therefore planning to continue the campaign in 2023 and 2024 and further expand the range of the campaign.
The #Lieber teaching office campaign not only focuses on attention and information, but also attaches great importance to working with teacher students in Baden-Württemberg. In videos, they give an authentic insight into their everyday life and exchange ideas with students about their motivation and dealing with challenges during their studies.
The agency "Institute of the German Economy Cologne Media" was commissioned to further develop the campaign.
The new campaign aims to gradually make a study prospective for the teaching position. Brang posters and postcards are used to achieve maximum attention to the target group. The campaign also takes up socially relevant topics such as climate change, equality, racism and diversity and illustrates how important these topics are also in the teacher studies and which social contribution can make future teachers.
