Europe's largest legal congress, the German Lawyers' Day, heralded the beginning of the registration phase for the three -day congress on April 13, 2024. The congress, which will take place in Stuttgart from September 25th to 27th, 2024, expects around 2,000 participants from the judiciary, politics, business and science.
The minister of the judiciary and for migration of Baden-Württemberg, Marion Gentges, emphasized the importance of the legal order and individual protection in her opening speech. She also underlined the responsibility of the lawyers to tackle the big topics of our time. The President of the 74th German Lawyers' Day, judge of the Federal Constitutional Court Prof. Dr. Henning Radtke called on using the congress to actively shape the right.
Congress will deal with various topics such as the civil process of the future, protection in the world of work, the seizure of electronic devices, climate change, coping with crises and public information responsibility in times of digital communication. These topics reflect the current challenges that the legal world faces.
In addition to the lectures and discussions, the German Lawyers' Day offers a diverse supporting program that includes cultural, musical and entertaining events. The lecture by the President of the Federal Constitutional Court Prof. Dr. Stephan Harbarth and a panel discussion on the subject of "War in Europe - and the right?" The opening event also dealt with the budgetary judgment of the Federal Constitutional Court of November 15, 2023, in which the consequences for the state's income and expenditure policy were discussed from a legal and economic perspective.
