Peaceful week of the farmers in Baden-Württemberg under police protection
The farmers' action week in Baden-Württemberg has been largely peaceful and trouble-free. The police were used nationwide with around 3,700 police officers to ensure a smooth process.
A total of 770 meetings with around 54,500 agricultural vehicles took place, which led to considerable traffic impairments on federal, agricultural and district roads as well as occasionally on federal highways. Nevertheless, the actions were largely peaceful and trouble -free. The police headquarters Ulm, Offenburg and Ravensburg formed regional priorities during the action week and had to accompany a total of 338 meetings by the police. The largest meetings with 1,100 vehicles and around 9,000 participants each took place in the responsibility areas of the police headquarters of Freiburg, Ravensburg and Reutlingen.
The meetings led to kilometers of traffic jams and traffic impairments, and there was a total of several hundred kilometers of traffic jams. In addition to the meetings, there were also occasional blockade actions in which agricultural vehicles were particularly used.
The deputy prime minister and interior minister Thomas Strobl thanked all police officers used for their professional work and the protection of freedom of assembly. Despite the traffic disruptions and isolated blockages, the police were able to ensure that the farmers' action is largely trouble -free.
The effects of the farmers' action week and the associated meetings on traffic were significant. The kilometers of traffic jams are likely to have led to significant delays in road traffic and thus also had an impact on the economy and everyday life of many people. Nevertheless, it is important that freedom of assembly is protected and guaranteed, and the police have played an important role here.
