Interior Minister praises success against ATMSPRENGER

Stuttgart/Bamberg (dpa) - The German Interior Minister Thomas Strobl congratulated the investigative authorities on the successful approach against ATM sprinkles. Several suspects were arrested in a joint action by the Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office, the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office and the Bamberg public prosecutor. The cooperation with the Dutch authorities was of particular importance, said Strobl.

The demolition of ATMs is a serious criminal offense that causes great dangers for uninvolved people. Thomas Strobl emphasized that the perpetrators are unscrupulous and are only concerned with their own advantage. The successful success of the investigation shows that you are going to proceed with a determination against ATM sprinkles. The Interior Minister praised the cooperation of the Baden-Württemberg State Criminal Police Office, the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office, the Bamberg public prosecutor and the Dutch authorities, which again proved that one could act effectively against this type of crime together.

In a joint press release from the Bamberg public prosecutor and the State Criminal Police Office Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg, which was published on September 28, the success against ATMSPRENGER was announced. Income and searches were carried out in the Netherlands. In doing so, evidence could be ensured and suspect.

Thomas Strobl thanked everyone involved for their great commitment and emphasized that the ruthless perpetrators would continue to be put on the craft. With intensive search and investigation measures, one wants to hold up the pressure and take everyone responsible that tries to blow up ATMs.

The demolition of ATMs has become a widespread crime in Germany in recent years. The perpetrators often use highly explosive gas mixtures to blow up the ATMs and get the money. They often accept severe property damage and the risk to passers -by. The investigative authorities are therefore under great pressure to effectively combat such crimes.

In the past few years, the police have already seen some successes in the fight against ATMSPRENGER. Through intensive cooperation, also at an international level, numerous perpetrators could be caught and arrested. In the future, too, the authorities will continue to act with all consequence against this type of crime to ensure the security of citizens.
