Joint explanation against anti -Semitism adopted

The state government of Baden-Württemberg has decided to explain a joint explanation in a fourth meeting of the cabinet committee "resolutely against hate and agitation", which is strong for the security of Jews and Jewish life in Baden-Württemberg and is at the same time against anti-Semitism. The reason for this declaration is the terrorist attack of Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, which also triggered fears and concerns in the Jewish community in Germany.

The explanation and the meeting of the cabinet committee were opened by Interior Minister Thomas Strobl. The representatives of the state of Israel in southern Germany and members of the Israelite religious community were also present to discuss the topic and discuss measures against anti -Semitism.

The state government was determined to strengthen the fight against hatred and agitation and emphasized the importance of clear positioning against anti -Semitism. A task force against hatred and agitation was used to determine relevant threats and take countermeasures.

Since the founding of the cabinet committee, 30 work packages have been tackled, 13 of which have already been completed. This includes the establishment of a website for the initiative tolerance online and the increased integration of the topic of hate crime in the training and further training of the police.

The State Criminal Police Office Baden-Württemberg has also set up a central information collection point to pursue crimes and actions related to hatred and agitation. So far, over 100 crimes and actions have been reported that are almost exclusively against Israel.

The joint explanation and the increased measures against anti-Semitism send a clear signal of solidarity and determination on the part of the state government of Baden-Württemberg. Hopefully the increased presence and support for the Jewish community will help to effectively counter hatred and agitation and to ensure the security and well-being of Jews in Baden-Württemberg.
