State government supports flood-affected people with 29 state and funding programs.

The state government in Baden-Württemberg has decided to help the person affected by the flood. According to the devastating floods in the Stuttgart region and in Upper Swabia, 29 state and funding programs are used to support reconstruction and coping with damage.

The water masses caused immense damage, which is why the government had to act quickly to help those affected. Thomas Strobl, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, said that the acute phase of the rescue measures was over and that the focus was now on reconstruction. The 29 funding programs are now checked by the specialist resorts to implement the assistance quickly.

The various programs include support for low -performance municipalities, investments in urban planning, support for municipal roads, school construction, sports facility construction, infrastructure in rural areas, forestry, water management and funding loans for companies. Each program is individually tailored to the needs of those affected.

In addition, an interministerial working group was set up to coordinate the implementation of the aid measures and to assess the damage in the affected regions. The state aid for municipalities of up to 25 million euros were already introduced in 2017 and are now available to support the remedy of local damage.

The state government's quick and coordinated reaction shows its commitment to those affected by the floods and their willingness to support the reconstruction and coping with damage. The assistance will help to cope with the consequences of the natural disaster and to help the communities and citizens of Baden-Württemberg again.
