Construction of an Agri-Photovoltaic model system in Bavendorf
Construction of an Agri-Photovoltaic model system in Bavendorf
Minister of Agriculture Peter Hauk at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Agri-Photovoltaic model system in Bavendorf, which is a prime example of intelligent land use concepts of the future. The project focuses on safe and high -quality apple production with additional solar power production.
"The current situation makes us very clear that securing energy - and also food supply - more than ever is a challenge Agrar-Photovoltaik (PDF) I am therefore happy to make the Agri-Photovoltaic (PV) system in Bavendorf as one of several model systems. Peter Huk on the occasion of the split ratio for the planned AGRI PV model system in the Obstbau-Bodensee (KOB) competence center in Bavendorf (Ravensburg district).
Use of Agri-Photovoltaic via fruit trees
Around 1,200 companies with ancillary workload construction currently produce around 300,000 tons of apples per year in the region. "The balanced, warm pre-Alpine climate with its long sunsteps creates perfect conditions for apple cultivation on Lake Constance and also for the project to use the agri photovoltaics over the fruit trees," emphasized the minister.
In addition to the security of supply with high-quality foods, which has become a clear concern in the current situation, the Baden-Württemberg state government is also committed to the energy transition and the rapid expansion of renewable energies. New, intelligent forms of land use, such as the combination of agricultural production and simultaneous electricity generation, are therefore of particular importance. Synergy effects can arise in particular in the case of special agricultural cultures, in which environmentally friendly, gentle production combined with an energy generation from solar energy and the agricultural production capacity of the areas can be obtained.
2.5 million euros in funding for sub-projects in the AGRI PV model region
In order to gain knowledge and experience with such systems and developing practical recommendations and concepts, the Ministry of Nutrition, Rural Affairs and Consumer Protection has created the AGRI-PV Baden-Württemberg model region together with the Environment Ministry. In a first step, the state promotes seven sub -projects at three agricultural research institutions, two practical companies, the Fraunhofer ISE and the Kehl University of Applied Sciences with 2.5 million euros over three years.
Further support provide business partners such as the KOB from the special -purpose association of Upper Swabian electricity works.
energy use for upstream and downstream areas of apple production
Especially in fruit growing, production is increasingly moving due to climate change in the direction of protected cultivation. By using foils and nets, weather -related risks such as hailstorm, sunburn and moisture -related pathogen infestation can be minimized in cultivation and the use of pesticides can be reduced. In order to reduce the use of materials in the protected cultivation and use the area in addition to the generation of electricity, it is possible to integrate solar modules into the protective systems that could take over the protective functions.
Together with the Fraunhofer Institute ISE and the local energy suppliers as well as the fruit growing company Hubert Bernhard in Kressbronn, the KOB will examine in the next few years, the cropping effects and economic results will be from the combined use of fruit growth areas for energy generation with photovoltaics. The primary goal of the project on the KOB is the development and implementation of an AGRI PV prototype for nuclear buildings and its scientific support. At the same time, a practice system in Kressbronn (Lake Constance district) is scientifically accompanied by the KOB.
The focus is on safe and high -quality apple production with additional solar power production. In addition, the fruit growing and energetic system parts are to be connected by other synergies. In apple production, a high proportion of the energy generated can be used particularly effectively in the upstream and downstream areas on site- be it when storing the apples in the cold store or using electrified agricultural machinery.
