Funding program of energy -efficient heating networks is extended
The successful and ecologically sensible funding program for energy -efficient heating networks is expanded. Energy -efficient heating networks make a strong contribution to the heat transition and climate protection. In recent years, over 60 projects have been funded that save 33,000 tons of CO2 annually.
well over 60 heating networks were able to do the Funding program "Energy-efficient heating networks" funded by the Ministry of the Environment. This means a CO 2 saving of around 33,000 tons per year. "The program is a success story," said Environment Minister Thekla Walker . "So it is logical to continue." According to the minister, heat networks made an important contribution to reaching the state goal: climate neutrality by 2040.
The heat market has the largest share of final energy consumption with around 50 percent. The design of the heat transfer is therefore a prerequisite for successful climate protection. In particular, the heat requirement of buildings must be consistently reduced and the remaining heat requirement must mainly be covered on the basis of renewable energies, emphasized Walker. Heat networks enable the most efficient use of renewable energies, highly efficient combination-heat coupling and waste heat.
up to 400,000 euros funding
Investment funding takes place in the form of a grant of up to 20 percent of the eligible costs and a maximum of EUR 200,000. The maximum amount of 200,000 euros can be increased by additional premiums to a maximum of 400,000 euros of the eligible costs per investment project.
The program is primarily aimed at districts, municipalities, but also to companies, special-purpose associations or public law institutions.
The funding program was initially extended by another year until June 30, 2022.
