The measure includes the decommissioning of the Stödtlen sewage treatment plant, the construction of a new pumping station and the construction of a three -kilometer long printing line, which connects the residential areas Schnepfenhof and Schnepfmühle with the Gaxhardt sewage treatment plant.

"With the upcoming construction work, the municipality of Stödtlen makes an important contribution to efficient and advanced wastewater treatment. So that municipalities can tackle such extensive infrastructure projects, we provide a total of 88 million euros in funding this year. This is well invested money," said the Environment Minister Thekla Walker . Because a future -proof wastewater disposal and high technical standards are the basis for sustainable water protection. “The measures in Stödtlen ensure better water quality in the Berlisbach and in the further course also in the Rotach. This benefits people and nature in the entire region.“

Already in 2020 the municipality of Stödtlen received the Comprehensive renovation of municipal wastewater disposal started, which was previously carried out with the two sewage treatment plants in Stödtlen and Gaxhardt. Due to the old age of Stödtlen's sewage treatment plant in the 1970s, the municipality decided to give them up and pump the wastewater into the Gaxhardt sewage treatment plant. The Gaxhardt sewage treatment plant was expanded in the first construction phase. The municipality received a grant from the country of 2.2 million euros.
