Modernization of bridges and traffic-calmed location in the center: Funding program 2024-2028
The Ministry of Transport in Baden-Württemberg recently announced the funding program for municipal road construction for 2024 to 2028. The focus is on the modernization of bridges and the establishment of traffic -calmed town center. A total of 59 measures are to be implemented in the four government districts with a funding volume of around 46 million euros.
Transport Minister Winfried Hermann emphasized the importance of sustainable mobility and the contribution of road construction to reduce CO2 emissions. A clear trend towards living and climate -friendly traffic concepts is recognizable in the cities and municipalities, which is also evident in the program registrations.
The funding program also provides for support for various further measures in addition to modernizing bridges and the conversion to traffic -calmed town. These include road new and expansion, traffic control systems, measures for noise protection and air pollution control as well as the networking of various forms of mobility.
A special focus is also on the promotion of e-quarters hubs, which should enable the structure of charging infrastructure for everyone without their own garage. The relocation of parking spaces to neighborhood garages is intended to achieve an alternative design of the street rooms and an improvement in the quality of life in densely populated city quarters. The re -networking of living spaces through green bridges via busy roads to preserve biodiversity is also eligible.
The funding program is based on the State Community Finance Finance Act (LGVFG), which supports the counties, cities and municipalities in building, removing and converting their transport infrastructure. Municipal construction projects are funded with up to 75 percent of the eligible costs, especially in the case of particularly climate -friendly projects or measures to manufacture accessibility.
In total, the funding program of around 131 million euros is to be initiated into the municipal street infrastructure in Baden-Württemberg. Registration for the program usually runs until October 31, but measures can also be taken during the year.
The measures within the framework of the funding program for municipal road construction not only contribute to the modernization and further development of the transport infrastructure, but also make an important contribution to promoting sustainable and climate-friendly mobility in the cities and municipalities of Baden-Württemberg.
