Baden-Württemberg starts themed week for community catering with a focus on organic food
The Minister of Nutrition, Rural Area and Consumer Protection in Baden-Württemberg, Peter Hauk, gave the starting signal for the themed week "Baden-Württemberg is (s) t Bio in shared catering". The event is intended to help raise awareness of your own diet and origin of the food and to increase the appreciation for food and for the people they produce.
Under the motto "Baden-Württemberg IS (s) t Bio in community catering", facilities for community catering are increasingly offering regional organic products for a week that carry the Baden-Württemberg organic. From classic spaetzle to ecologically and regionally produced sweet potatoes, guests are offered a variety of selections in shared catering in the country. Minister Peter Hauk emphasized at the opening of the themed week that the initiative contributes to the promotion of regionality and sustainability.
The kick -off of the themed week took place on September 23 in the ver.di education center in Mosbach. The conference center has been supplying its guests with ecological and regional products for many years. As part of a producer market, the regional producers were able to present their diverse products and then exchange ideas with the guests at lunch together. Anja Kuhn, the head of the hotel and restaurant company in the ver.di education center, emphasized the importance of freshly cooked and lovingly prepared dishes.
The theme week "Baden-Württemberg IS (s) t Bio in community catering" takes place as part of the eco-action weeks, which take place from 23 September 29, 2023. During this week, regional organic food with the Baden-Württemberg organic is in focus and the guests are informed about their origin. The facilities are provided with prescription proposals, and the event is also accompanied by public relations and specialist events. If necessary, the facilities receive support in the search for regional suppliers.
The eco-action weeks were opened on September 18, 2023 at the Hohenbeilstein castle winery. The state of Baden-Württemberg, the MBW Marketing Society mbH and the working group of ecological agriculture Baden-Württemberg (Aöl) organize the action weeks, which are under the motto "Baden-Württemberg is (s) t organic". Commercial companies as well as actors from processing, trade and gastronomy, including community catering, register nationwide events on the topic of ecoland construction that are advertised as part of the eco-action weeks.
The project "Öko-Aktungswochen" is part of the further developed action plan "Bio from Baden-Württemberg", which is intended to strengthen awareness of sustainable food production and consumption in the region.
