The Nature Conservation Fund in Baden-Württemberg announced that it will promote nature conservation projects in the state with around 2.5 million euros. This amount is provided from replacement payments from 2023. Geminished organizations, local authorities, companies and private individuals are invited to apply for a grant for their planned nature conservation projects by September 30, 2024.
The promotion of the Nature Conservation Fund Foundation is based under the motto "We promote diversity" in particular on project projects that want to strengthen and maintain biological diversity. The replacement payments were generated by taxes for non-compensated interventions in nature and landscape and are now used for specific measures such as species protection, biotope network, biotope networking or initial care.
Thekla Walker, Minister of Environment and Chair of the Board of Trustees, emphasized the importance of the foundation as an important partner of nature conservation in the country. It called on all those interested in nature conservation to make use of this offer and to make an important contribution to the protection and improvement of living conditions for different animal and plant species in the country.
Interested parties can now submit their funding applications to the Nature Conservation Fund Foundation. The prerequisite for a positive decision is that the projects serve to upgrade nature and landscape and that replacement payments are available in the relevant natural area. In addition, a professional coordination with the responsible regional council is required in advance of the application.The tender ends on September 30, 2024. Applications that are submitted by July 1, 2024 can still receive a permit this year, provided that replacement payments are available. On March 13, 2024, the Nature Conservation Fund Foundation offers a digital information event for the current tender.
