1. Structural measures in rural areas: Land promoted over 1,100 projects with 104.4 million euros in 2024
The state of Baden-Württemberg again supports a variety of valuable structural measures within the framework of the rural development program (ELR) with a total of 104.4 million euros. These investments should contribute to a sustainable improvement in the quality of life in rural areas. The promotion of over 1,100 projects triggers an investment volume of almost 756 million euros and thus creates considerable economic impulses for the region.
The Minister of Nutrition, Rural Affairs and Consumer Protection, Peter Hauk, emphasized the importance of the ELR for the structural promotion in rural areas. The rural municipalities are to be strengthened by promoting projects such as the conversion of empty buildings to village community houses or the preservation of multi -purpose halls. It is particularly gratifying that a clear plus was also recorded in the “Work” funding center, which indicates that companies continue to invest in rural areas and ensure progress.
A central focus of the ELR is on the climate -friendly structural development. Climate change can also be felt in Baden-Württemberg, so the program increases the use of sustainable building materials such as wood. New construction projects are only funded if wood or a comparable material is used to use the CO₂ storage potential of these materials. In addition, topics such as water management and greening in rural communities are increasingly taken into account in order to strengthen the climate -like of the regions.
Overall, this year's ELR program decision shows that the state of Baden-Württemberg continues to invest a lot in the development of rural areas and thus want to improve the quality of life and economic strength of the region. The large number of funded projects and the high sum of investments promise a positive development for the country's rural areas.
