ASMK supports Baden-Württemberg in financing and qualifications in the nursing sector
Work and Social Ministers' Conference supports Baden-Württemberg in claims for care financing and professional qualification
At the 100th Labor and Social Ministers' Conference (ASMK) in Berlin, Baden-Württemberg's push was supported for better financing in the nursing sector and for a majority qualification of people with disabilities. The conference, which ended on December 7, 2023, passed a decision that asked the federal government to set up a budget for professional qualification. Especially people with disabilities who are still under the threshold should benefit from this and receive perspectives on the general labor market.
State Secretary Dr. Ute Leidig emphasized the importance of qualification modules for company and external training as well as the cooperation with workshops for disabled people. These measures should enable people with disabilities to get good chances on the general labor market.
Another focus of the conference was the financing of the training costs in nursing and assistance. A joint application by Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia found majority support in order to request a separate, cross-sector financing of the training in nursing and assistance. Dr. The need for uniform, non -supporting financing emphasized in order to maintain training positions and to counteract the shortage of skilled workers in the nursing area.
The demands and support of Baden-Württemberg on the ASMK have potentially far-reaching effects. The creation of a budget for professional qualification as well as uniform financing of the training costs in nursing and assistance could help improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities and to counteract the shortage of skilled workers. With better qualification and financing, more people with disabilities could be integrated into the labor market, while the quality and availability of nursing staff could also be increased.
