The Ministry of Economics, Labor and Living has financed the renovation with a total of around 3.5 million euros in financial aid - of which around 1.9 million euros from the federal government. "Böblingen is a good example of how the citizens in particular benefit from urban development financing. The quality of life and life in the city center of Böblingen have improved significantly in recent years thanks to the urban renewal, and the new district of Flugfeld has also been connected to the city center," said Minister DR. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut on the occasion of the conclusion of the financing measure.

The financing offers for urban development are of great importance and have a large number of positive effects, said the minister. "The urban development subsidy brings many advantages for urban development: districts are upgraded, Brachland is being reused and urgently needed living space can be created. In addition, every euro triggers follow-up investments of up to eight euros in financing, of which the local craft sector in particular benefits," said Hoffmeister-Kraut.

games and leisure opportunities in the Schlossbergpark

The aim of the urban renewal measure was to upgrade the city center with the two parts of the lower town and the old town as a city center and to make them more attractive and lively. It was also possible to integrate the new airfield district and connect its residents to the supply offer.

The entrance to the Böblinger Schlossberg was significantly upgraded by the design of the Schlossberg Park and the streets of Turmstrasse and the driveway. After the Schlossbergpark has not yet been open to the public, the game and leisure facilities created there are now used by residents and visitors. Between the Schlossbergring and the lake promenade is the "Meet am See" Offers young and old and represents great added value for the population. The flexibly usable rooms for leisure, exercise and educational activities as well as offers for civic engagement, information and advice are of great interest.

uniform and pedestrian -friendly design of the station district

In the lower town, the entire Bahnhofsviertel has become much more attractive thanks to a uniform, pedestrian -friendly design of the street areas. It was also possible to set up a shopping center and thus create the shopping offers that have long been desired by the citizens. The city entrance Wolfgang-Brumme-Allee, which used to be considered a city highway, was converted into a city road compatible with the city center with green areas. Three pedestrian bridges over the avenue were demolished so that public life can take place again on the ground floor.

The renovation area also benefits from the fact that numerous private owners have taken the opportunity and renovated or rebuilt their buildings. In total, more than 100 apartments were modernized or rebuilt as part of the renovation.
