23 concepts awarded: Best practices for inpatient retail in Baden-Württemberg

Successful concepts for a modern shopping experience

As part of the ideas competition "Shopping experiences in inpatient retail-Best Practices for Baden-Württemberg", Minister of Economics Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut awarded 23 concepts. The concepts are intended to help retail to find creative answers to the changed buying behavior of consumers.

The award of the 23 experience concepts was announced as part of a final event of the ideas competition on October 23, 2023 in Stuttgart. The aim of the competition was to develop and implement innovative and sustainable concepts for a contemporary shopping experience. The excellent concepts should now serve as best practices and motivate and inspire other retailers.

The minister emphasized that digitization brings challenges to inpatient retail, but also offers opportunities. The excellent adventure concepts are intended to help strengthen the competitiveness of retail in the country. It is important to find both stationary and digital solutions.

All information about the best practices is to be published this year. In addition, video clips are implemented for each of the excellent concepts on the project website. This is intended to give interested retailers the opportunity to get a precise picture of the successful concepts and to duplicate them if necessary.

Totally, a specialist jury selected 31 shopping experience concepts for funding from the ministry. The companies received financial support of 80 percent of the eligible costs, limited to a maximum of 70,000 euros per company. The concepts had to be implemented by September 30, 2023.

The excellent companies are a wide variety of individual dealers from different industries. These include fashion houses, perfumeries, jewelers and furniture stores. Some of the excellent companies are the bed house Alesi e.K. from Schramberg, Modehaus Bantlin GmbH from Kirchheim unter Teck and the Parfümerie Niendorf GmbH from Albstadt.

The award of the 23 Best Practices as part of the ideas competition "Shopping experiences in inpatient retail" is expected to have a positive impact on retail in Baden-Württemberg. By publishing the information on the successful concepts and the implementation of video clips on the project website, other retailers are offered concrete starting points to strengthen their competitiveness. The award should thus serve as motivation and inspiration in order to develop and implement innovative and successful concepts for a contemporary shopping experience.
