Baden-Württemberg is investing 20 million euros in quantum computing research

Baden-Württemberg continues to invest in the future technology quantum computing

The state of Baden-Württemberg again shows its commitment to top research and innovation by investing a further 20 million euros in application-oriented research on quantum computing. Quantum technologies are considered absolute future fields and have the potential to revolutionize numerous industries.

With the decision of the Council of Ministers to further promote the "Competence Center Quante Computing Baden-Württemberg (KQC BW)" under the coordination of the Fraunhofer Society, the state government strengthens the Baden-Württemberg innovation location. By 2028, a further 20 million euros in grants are to be provided in order to promote research in the field of quantum computing.

In the past four years, the country has made extensive investments in the construction and composite projects of the competence center, a total of around 40 million euros. These funding has made it possible to build sustainable networks and to establish research in quantum computing in Baden-Württemberg.
