Digital end devices for all trainee trainees in the seminar for training and further education Stuttgart
On Monday, January 8, 2024, almost 260 trainees in the Seminar for Training and Training Stuttgart are sworn in in the higher service for the teaching position. A special innovation awaits the new teachers in training: For the first time
The tablets were handed over by State Secretary Sandra Boser and Thomas Riecke-Strauge, President of the Center for School Quality and Teacher Education (ZSL). This initiative is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Culture to strengthen the training and further training of teachers in the field of digitization. Thomas Riecke-Strauge emphasized that this should strengthen the digital infrastructure and equipment equipment of the training and further education institutions for teachers and ensure sustainable training and further training in digital pedagogical skills.
The seminar for training and further education Stuttgart celebrates its 100th birthday in 2024 and is therefore a symbolic location for the first tablet handover to all legal clerks. This initiative is the result of a long cooperation between the country, which started pilot projects with tablets in schools in 2016. With the digital pact school, with its various programs, around 75 percent of the Baden-Württemberg teachers and at least every fourth student were equipped with digital devices.
The procurement of the devices for teachers in training was made possible by funds of 4.3 million euros, which means that all new teachers can now start their preparatory service with their own end device.
State Secretary Sandra Boser emphasizes the need for 21st century teachers not only to deepen professional but also digital skills in order to understand the enormous potential, but also possible risks of digital media.
This initiative marks an important step in the preparation of future teachers on the requirements of the digital age. The equipment with digital devices enables the trainee clerks to familiarize themselves with digital teaching and learning methods at an early stage and to prepare their pedagogical practice for a digital future. This could help strengthen the use of digital media in class and to promote the development of the competence of the pupils in dealing with digital devices.
