The state of Baden-Württemberg is driving its further training offensive with the specialist day "Safe Future-Design further education". Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann, Minister of Economics Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister of Science Petra Olschowski and Culture Secretary Sandra Boser, on September 28, 2023, discussed the role of lifelong learning and further training when successfully shaping change in the world of work on September 28, 2023. In order to be able to use the country's full potential, a broad awareness of the topic and the realization that further training is becoming increasingly important is of great importance.
Minister of Economic Affairs Hoffmeister-Kraut emphasized that further vocational training was a central success factor for employees and companies. In view of the current challenges such as digitization, decarbonization and demographic change, the transformation can only succeed with well -qualified employees. The goal is to support the employees in dealing with the changes in working life and using their existing potential. Therefore, the Ministry of Economic Affairs advises and support companies and employees and set impulses for innovations in vocational training. The "The Chänce" campaign also draws attention to the advantages of further training.
Science Minister Olschowski emphasized the role of universities as a reliable and innovative partner in lifelong learning. With more than 1,400 further training courses, the universities are more broadly positioned than ever before. Over 750 further training opportunities have already been set on the "Südwissen.de" platform. There are 25 “further training guides” nationwide for better networking between science and business. The initiative of the university training@BW nationwide is a pioneer. In addition, a seal of quality for offers of further scientific training is being developed in order to make the quality of the offers visible.
Culture Secretary Boser emphasized the importance of education as a prerequisite for understanding and shaping the changes in the world of work and society. Further training also promotes social cohesion. In particular, the literacy and basic education have great potential in view of the need for skilled workers. The Ministry of Culture is striving for closer cooperation with the economy and the job centers to improve the basic training of people.
At the specialist day, discussions about the contribution of further training to secure skilled workers, qualified advice and innovative training formats were conducted in various forums and a talent. There was also an overview of the progress of the training offensive achieved so far. For example, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has established four additional regional offices for vocational training and launched a coaching program for personnel development and further training advice for small and medium-sized companies. In addition, innovative further training projects were started in the subject area "Future Skills" and "Bau.wä ours". An information and advertising campaign for vocational training under the motto "The Chänce" is currently underway. The coordination office for the common training offensive is located at the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
The Ministry of Science supports the universities in strengthening their further training structures and making further training offers more visible. The platform "Südwissen.de" provides interested parties an overview of the further training opportunities of all universities in the country. A nationwide network of 25 regional and specialist networkers was built up to improve the matching between science and business. In addition, a certification procedure was developed to make the quality of the training offers visible.
The Ministry of Culture is committed to closer cooperation with the economy and the job centers to improve the basic education of people who cannot read and write sufficiently. Digital -based advice in the State Network of further education advice was expanded. In addition, the Digialpha platform was developed to enable people who cannot read and write sufficiently to access digital support modules.
