Land promotes design advisory boards
The Ministry of Landes Development and Living Baden-Württemberg again promotes the use of design advisory boards in Baden-Württemberg municipalities in 2023 and 2024. The cities of Heilbronn and Langenau receive financial support for the stimulation of a design advisory board of a total of 37,600 euros. In addition, the accompanying public relations work on the design advisory boards in Friedrichshafen, Karlsruhe, Konstanz, Laupheim, Nürtingen and Stuttgart is funded with around 69,800 euros. Overall, the funding is around 107,000 euros.
The Minister of Land Development and Living, Nicole Razavi, says: “What makes the design advisory boards a real enrichment in the planning process is their fresh view from the outside. As a consulting expert, they give the administration, politics and the builders valuable impulses for their planning. Place - be it the need for living space, the space consumption or the livelihood and climate -friendly design of our towns and quarters.
already promoted 40 design advisory boards
The state of Baden-Württemberg supports cities and municipalities that have decided to use a design advisory board for the first time, to realign an existing advisory board or to accompany the work of its design advisory board through publicity measures. Since 2015, 40 municipalities have been funded with a total of around 1.02 million euros. The Ministry of State Development and Living Baden-Württemberg re-praises the funding annually to support other municipalities, municipal planning or administrative associations in setting up a design advisory board. There are currently 49 municipal design advisory boards in the country.
second national exchange of experiences
The diverse tasks and challenges of municipal design advisory boards were also the focus of the second nationwide exchange of experiences, to which the Ministry of State Development and Living had invited in cooperation with the Chamber of Architects Baden-Württemberg and the city of Friedrichshafen on November 30th. Under the motto "With advice and action-building cultural development in the city and country", over a hundred participants in the Graf-Zeppelin-Haus in Friedrichshafen discussed strategies and instruments for the effective and effective work of a design advisory board. There was great agreement in the fact that every municipality must find its own approach to the fact that the integration of local politics is always an important prerequisite for the implementation of the consultation results.
"The design advisory boards are a model of success. They achieve the best solutions when a specific construction task is embedded in a development concept. The new local development advisory board of the Chamber of Architects wants to motivate and support smaller communities and to support the hidden potentials of their places, but at least to think about up-to-date, sustainable structures," says Markus Müller, President of the Chamber of Architects Baden-Württemberg .
Fabian Müller, the first mayor of the city of Friedrichshafen, says: "We are very satisfied with the results from our design advisory board in Friedrichshafen. In the advisory board, the design of buildings is often controversial, but it is precisely this technical and design discussion that leads the projects and leads to results that the builders also surprised. The discussions are worth it."
design advisory board
A design advisory board is an independent advisory expert body with members of different construction and planning compound disciplines. The experts advise on site about urban planning and construction or local historical construction projects. As a rule, they are included in an early stage, in the so -called "phase 0". The advisory fields are widely caught: they range from private or public construction projects to urban planning measures to design statutes. You ensure that all aspects and interests of planning and building are taken into account and coordinated with each other in the sense of a good building culture. The public should be informed on the work of the advisory board. The various interests of the public, administration, politics and building owners should be compensated and the local building culture should be promoted.
