The Ministry of Economic Affairs supports the regional digitization center "Regional Digital Cooperation in the Handicraft" in Rutesheim with around 637,000 euros. The digital hub should support companies in the best possible way in their digitization projects.

With the regional digital hub "Regional digital cooperation in the craft (Rediko)", Baden-Württemberg is expanding the Digital Hubs network in the country by a new contact point and is therefore even more powerful in terms of content. This announced Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Minister of Economics, Labor and Tourism, in advance to hand over the approval notice to the Digital Hub in Rutesheim.

Baden-Württemberg is considered a pioneer in the digitization of the economy. The regional digital hubs offer companies, start-ups and research actors in the country information, networking, testing and experimental areas as well as helpful content support and infrastructure to implement digitization projects. Online formats also contribute to accelerating the digital knowledge transfer in the region, according to the Minister of Economy.

On July 11, 2023, Ministerial Director Michael Kleiner presented the approval notice of around 637,000 euros as part of the second day of the future in the industry center Expansion and Facade in Rutesheim. Michael Kleiner emphasized that the digital hub would advance digitization in the craft by providing diverse support services and adequate infrastructure.

According to the new monitoring report "Wirtschaft Digital BW 2023", the craft is for the first time in midfield with regard to its degree of digitization according to the surveys in 2017 and 2020. Many businesses of the craft intend to invest in digitization in the next five years. Against this background, the regional digital hub is a valuable component of the digital ecosystem in the country in order to support companies in the best possible way in their digitization projects, added the ministerial director.

The aim of the regional digital hub "Regional digital cooperation in the craft (Rediko)" is to create a regional information and advisory services for small and medium-sized companies in the craft, in particular construction or expansion trade, with regard to digital solutions. For this purpose, online knowledge and training elements are to be developed and offered as well as best practice examples on site at district craftsmen. Subsequently, presence workshops are to take place in the digital hub in Rutesheim, where the companies can experience digital solutions and try them out together. The Digital Hub offers entry formats for the digitization of work processes as well as profound support, for example for the development of digital business models. The project is implemented by the Supaters' Association for the expansion and facade of Baden-Württemberg as a consortial management as well as Clever Group AG, S3-Medien GmbH and the district craftsmen Böblingen as a consortial partner.

The regional digital hub "Regional digital cooperation in the craft (Rediko)" is one of a total of twelve regional digital hubs that were selected by the Ministry of Economic Affairs as part of the second promotion for regional digital hubs. In the first call for funding in July 2017, the construction of ten regional digital hubs was funded with a total of ten million euros. Together with the three other subject-specific DE: Hubs, which are selected by the federal government and partially funded by the state, Baden-Württemberg forms a powerful digital hub network. Due to the second recall of March 2022, around ten million euros are available for the further development of the existing regional digital hubs and the establishment of new regional digital hubs by the end of 2025, whereby the digital hubs must have at least 50 percent of co -financing.

The promotion of regional digital hubs is a central measure of the initiative of the economy 4.0 Baden-Württemberg. The IW4.0, initiated by the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Tourism Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with 35 partner organizations, aims to promote digitization of the economy and in particular support small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) and their employees. The IW4.0 is a central part of the cross -departmental digitization strategy of the state digital.and. Since their start in 2017, the partners of the IW4.0 have carried out numerous activities in their respective areas to advance the digital transformation of the economy. The Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Tourism has supported digitization with various measures, from information and networking to advice, research and development to concrete support programs.
