New in print: The fourth element - thing #35

The Baden-Württemberg company Volocopter focuses on the latest edition of the popular web TV show "Printing thing". The 35th episode of the series is devoted to innovation, entrepreneurship and climate and shows how Volocopter wants to realize the vision of a flight taxis for everyone.

Volocopter has set itself the goal of defining mobility in the airspace in a sustainable and redefination. The company not only makes mobility environmentally friendly, but also climate -neutral. Dirk Hoke, CEO von Volocopter, said in a conversation with Rudi Hoogvliet, the authorized representative of the state of Baden-Württemberg at the federal government that the company will take an important step towards electrical and sustainable aviation next year.

The idea of a flight taxis was still considered utopia two decades ago, but thanks to Volocopter it will become a reality in 2024. The company developed the flight taxis that are supposed to support the Olympics in Paris in 2024. Volocopter is working on overcoming both the technical and certification hurdles in order to convince the population of the security and reliability of these new means of transportation.

In the podcast, Dirk Hoke and Rudi Hoogvliet also discuss the future of aviation in Germany. They discuss what measures have to be taken so that the production and development of flight taxis and other innovations can continue to take place in Germany. There is also talk about the certification of flight taxis and the security standards.

In another part of the program, Hoogvliet deals with the topic of climate in the Federal Council. Politicians already have to set the course today in order to be able to operate LNG terminals by 2043 and to be able to convert for the hydrogen infrastructure. In addition, measures are discussed to further develop net zero technologies and to ensure the protection of the climate by accelerated approval procedures.
