Start-up BW Local: Municipalities are increasingly relying on company succession

State competition for founding -friendly municipalities starts in the fourth round

The state competition "Start-up BW Local-founding-friendly municipality" goes into the fourth round and this year is focusing a special focus on corporate succession in municipal companies. The participating municipalities, cities, counties and composite projects from Baden-Württemberg have the opportunity to submit their concepts to create start-up and successor-friendly offers and thus to secure the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Tourism.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs supports individual municipalities with up to 2,500 euros in creating their concept, while inter -municipal projects can be funded with up to 5,000 euros. The best concepts are awarded, with the three finalists receiving additional prize money of 10,000 euros, 7,500 euros and 5,000 euros. A special price of 10,000 euros is awarded for particularly outstanding services in the area of corporate succession.

The Minister of Economics, Labor and Tourism, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, emphasized the increasing importance of the topic of corporate succession and the increased demands on the economic development of the municipalities. In particular, it encouraged communities in rural areas to take part in the competition and to take advantage of the promotion to create a concept. The awarding of founding and successor-friendly municipalities is to be further strengthened and made visible.

Various approaches for founding -friendly municipalities

The previous competition rounds have shown that there are a variety of ways of how municipalities can become more foundation -friendly. From the activation of the regional founding scene to networking with relevant partners to events and projects for start -up qualification in schools - the creative approaches are diverse and promising.

applications for the state competition are possible until July 31, 2024. The finalists are determined at the annual conference of the Baden-Württemberg business development agency, whereby the specialist audience is also involved. The event will take place on December 3, 2024 in the rotunda of the L-Bank in Stuttgart. Baden-Württemberg municipalities can now register for the competition on the "Start-up BW Local for municipalities" website and submit their concepts.

The state competition thus offers an important platform to present and distinguish innovative ideas for the promotion of start -ups and company succession in the municipalities. Through the targeted support, the participating municipalities can benefit from sustainable companies, new jobs and other positive economic effects in the long term.
