Funding for young companies: Baden-Württemberg supports start-ups

The support program Start-up BW Pre-Seed of the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Tourism and L-Bank supported 54 young companies this year. With a funding budget of a total of seven million euros, the program is one of the flagship programs for start-up funding in Baden-Württemberg. Also in the coming year it should continue to promote exciting young companies and their founders.

In the sixth selection round of the year, eight companies from the areas of energy, health, nutrition, circular economy and advisory services received a funding commitment. These can now formally apply for support.

The Start-up BW Pre-Seed program has been running since 2018 and has supported around 240 young innovative companies in all parts of the country. The funding is a maximum of 200,000 euros per company, with the country taking over 80 percent and a co-investor bears the remaining 20 percent.

The chairwoman of the L-Bank board, Edith Weymayr, emphasized the width and diversity of the program, which was a sign of the innovative strength of the Baden-Württemberg economy through the industry distribution and the locations of the funded companies.
