Tina Rössler and Wenke Wernicke are the management of the Stuttgart IV tax office as new double leadership. In the history of the financial administration, this is the first time that a tandem takes responsibility for a tax office. The two women follow Thomas King, who took over the management of the Bietigheim-Bissingen tax office.

The decision for a double leadership was welcomed by Finance Secretary Gisela Splett, the emphasized that the compatibility of family and work in tax and financial management should be promoted. Each of the two leaders brings their own strengths, specialist knowledge and experiences that create ideal conditions for successful management of the tax office in combination.

Tina Rössler started her professional career with the study of law and had various positions at the Aalen tax office, the State Office for Sales and Services as well as the Ministry of Finance. Wenke Wernicke studied general administration and law and held different positions at the Stuttgart II tax office, in the Karlsruhe Chief Finance Directorate and the Ministry of Finance.

Finance State Secretary Splett thanked Thomas King for his commitment and wished him every success as head of office in Bietigheim-Bissingen.

The Stuttgart IV tax office has a high proportion of women both with employees and in management functions. With 72 percent proportion of women among the 86 employees and 86 percent women in management functions, the office sets a clear sign of equality.

The Stuttgart IV tax office is responsible for cash register, enforcement and bankruptcy and recorded a total tax volume of around 19 billion euros in 2022. It is also housed in a country building with excellent energy management.

The change at the head of the Stuttgart IV tax office marks a historical moment and could be pioneering for future management structures in the financial administration.
