Award of the BIM Awards 2021

Transport Minister Winfried Hermann presented the BIM Award 2021. As part of an online event, he honored young students for their outstanding research and their innovative approaches to Building Information Modeling.

The "five-dimensional construction planning" was enriched by six exciting ideas: Baden-Württemberg's Minister of Transport Winfried Hermann as patron bim awards . The fifth award ceremony took place on Friday Corona in a digital online event. In addition to three -dimensional construction planning, BIM also includes the factors of time and costs - and thus enables a multi -dimensional overview of the projects.

Awarded outstanding master's theses in the "Building Information Modeling" area (BIM, in German: Building Data modeling). 54 students whose professors are "Virtual academy a6" have submitted competitive contributions. The implementation of construction projects in BIM is becoming increasingly important. In Baden-Württemberg, the procedure for federal and state roads is introduced and established as standard procedures.

Minister Hermann said: "We honor young students for their outstanding research work and their innovative approaches to Building Information Modeling. Long-term goal is to implement all construction measures in the country with BIM support. As a transport minister, it is particularly important to me that digitization is used to contribute to sustainable, climate-friendly and safe mobility for everyone. This year we have our own presentation for the further development of digital and networked mobility.

The winners

in competition have prevailed:

  • Robin Fuchs et al., "Bim+ Student Hive", University of Technology Stuttgart
  • Dario Redzovic, "Research on the application of acceptance theory on the implementation of BIM in infrastructure planning", kit
  • Laura Martin, "The potential of blockchain technology to support processes in the construction industry", University of Stuttgart
  • Vicky Abdic, "Automated edge recognition for quality control in the field of transport infrastructure", DHBW Mosbach
  • Aaron Fischer "Implementation of BIM in the planning process of a preliminary study using the example of the four -lane expansion of the B 10 near Schwieberdingen", Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences
  • Ludwig Koch, Benjamin Liemen et al., "B30 Further development from the 2D power study for 5D planning", Biberach University of Applied Sciences

Interface combines science and practice in construction

Alexander Hofmann, Managing Director of Hochtief PPP Transport Westernuropa GmbH and representatives of the "Virtual Academy A6", explained in his speech the importance of the BIM Award and the work of the "Virtual Academy A6": "We are very proud that the BIM Award and the Virtual A6 Academy are an integral part of all participating universities Baden-Württemberg. Baden-Württemberg Give the Virtual Academy A6 from 2022 to the newly founded "Virtual Academy Bim Cluster Baden-Württemberg". This was announced by the members of Minister Hermann and many other guests at the BIM award ceremony of the BIM cluster in the late 2021 in Stuttgart. ”

The BIM Award "Virtual Academy A6" initiated by Hochtief PPP Solutions is awarded for the fifth time. Hochtief PPP Solutions, Johann Bunte Bauunternehmung, Dutch Infrastructure Fund (DIF) and the BIM cluster BW provided a total of 20,000 euros in prize money.

The jury who decided on the winners includes Prof. Dr. Hermann Hütter (University of Karlsruhe) and Prof. Dr. Steffen Feirabend (Stuttgart University) and Alexander Hofmann (Hochtief).

Evaluation based on the exposés and presentations

In a workshop, six finalists had the opportunity to present their work to a selected specialist audience and the jurors by means of a presentation. The evaluation was based on the exposés and the presentations. Building Information Modeling will increasingly shape the processes of the German and international construction industry in the future. Hochtief is one of the pioneers in this area and continuously works on the development and implementation of this innovative way of working, for example when expanding the A6.

at the "Virtual Academy A6", the part of the project is "Availability Bab A6 AS Wiesloch/Rauenberg-AK Weinsberg" , professors from the universities of Biberach, Karlsruhe and Konstanz, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences and the University of Stuttgart as well as the Baden-Württemberg University Mosbach.

The goal is to promote the exchange between research and teaching at universities and the working practice of companies in the construction industry. Activities such as excursions, project work, internships or student theses in and around the PPP project are coordinated and organized through the academy network. To implement Building Information Modeling, networks from different but well -networked clusters with competent planners, construction companies, suppliers and universities are required as a driver. It is important to bring clever decision -makers, resources, ideas and talents together.
