Ministry of Economic Affairs promotes German craft institute with 203,000 euros for innovation transfer

The Ministry of Economic Affairs supports the German Handicraft Institute (DHI) with around 203,000 euros in 2024. This financial support is an important contribution to the basic financing of the institute. The DHI makes a decisive contribution to the innovation transfer in the craft by acting as an intermediary between theory and practice, research and application as well as politics and business.

The Minister of Economics, Labor and Tourism, Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, emphasized the importance of the DHI in view of the challenges that the craft must face in terms of digitization, securing skilled workers and climate protection. The research institution is specifically geared towards the craft and has five regional research institutes, including the Institute for Operations in DHI (ITB) in Karlsruhe.

The ITB in Karlsruhe conducts application -related research on corporate management for small and medium -sized companies (SMEs) and supports them with the transfer of scientifically sound solutions. This enables companies to access current research results and expand their skills.

The DHI is financed not only by Baden-Württemberg, but also by the German Chamber of Crafts, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection as well as the other 15 federal states. In addition, third -party funds are also raised that contribute to the financing of the institute.

The promotion of the DHI by the Ministry of Economic Affairs is of great importance because it contributes to the fact that the craft can keep up with the current challenges. The support of research and innovation in the craft is of crucial importance for the future competitiveness and sustainability of the industry.
