The municipality of Unterschneidheim is closer to an important goal: the complete elimination of so -called gray areas in the area of the broadband. These weakly developed areas are known for not offering adequate access to fast internet. The initiative to close this gaps aims to improve the digital infrastructure of the community, which is important for the local economy.

RBS WAVE GmbH, a subsidiary of EnBW, has been awarded the contract for the work. The contract, which includes the entire necessary infrastructure, amounts to around 629,004 euros. Of this sum, 300,000 euros are already anchored in the municipal budget, which supports the planning and implementation of the project.

The measure should be completed by the end of 2027 and the required infrastructure should be installed. A large part of the costs are covered by funding from the federal and state governments, which can be up to 90 percent. This is a significant relief for the municipal finances and shows a positive step towards better networking of citizens and companies in the region.

The change and optimization of broadband supply is an important aspect that can not only increase the quality of life of the residents, but also improve the framework conditions for the settlement of companies. Fast internet is now a basic requirement for many business models and entrepreneurial development.
