Shock on the A6: Serious truck accident with injuries!

On Friday morning, September 20, 2024, there was a serious traffic accident on the A6 motorway near Hockenheim in which five trucks were involved. The incident occurred around 6 a.m. and led to a comprehensive blocking of the motorway in the direction of Mannheim, which resulted in considerable traffic disruptions.

The fire brigade, police and emergency services were quickly on site. A rescue helicopter was also called for support. According to the Mannheim police headquarters, there has been no clear information about the exact course of the accident or the extent of the injuries. However, it is clear that at least one person was violated.

The accident occurred near Wiesloch/Rauenberg, and the first reports speak of long traffic jams that quickly formed when traffic came to a standstill due to the accident. Eyewitnesses reported on a chaotic scene in which several saddle trains collided. This type of accidents is unfortunately not unique. It was only last week, on September 13, that a tragic incident occurred on the A6, in which a 28-year-old Audi driver lost his life. The A6 has a total length of 484 km and extends from Saarbrücken in Saarland to Waidhaus in Bavaria. It is one of the main roads in Germany and attracts thousands of vehicles every day. The terrorist moment for the current accident underlines how important it is to act responsibly and attentively as a driver in order to avoid such accidents.
