New enjoyment in Ravensburg: glass manufactory and French tartlets!

Roßbachstraße 2/4, 88212 Ravensburg, Deutschland - Ravensburg, the charming city in the Upper Swabian, is about to change exciting change! On November 22, Moritz and Melanie Obermayer open the doors to their new shop at Roßbachstrasse 2/4. After three years of intensive planning, the former outlet shop "More4less" is now becoming a glass manufacturer for exquisite sweets. "Ravensburg immediately convinced us, the cityscape and the population fit us perfectly," says Moritz Obermayer, who, as a master confectioner, already caused a stir with the German Chocolate Masters. The two entrepreneurs rely on transparency and regionality by producing their products in front of the eyes of the customers and above all use ingredients of local farmers, such as Schwäbische.de reported.

But that's not all! Only 200 meters away, at Herrenstraße 43, opened the "Fiete & Frieda" café in December. The two confectioners Lucia Brückl and Ann Kathrin Steffen, who are already known for their French tartlets at the region's weekly markets, have taken over the former location of the "Café Kamala". "We did our master in 2021 and finally found the perfect location," explains Lucia Brückl. With 35 seats in the café and another 40 on the terrace, they want to inspire the Ravensburger with creative creations such as pumpkin-sauerkirsch tarts.

A new chapter for Ravensburg's gastronomy

The two new shops bring a breath of fresh air to the Ravensburg catering scene. Moritz Obermayer plans a bakery for sourdough bread and relies on the highest quality of the ingredients, while Brückl and Steffen strive for a diverse breakfast and even a lunch table. "We are a bit experimentally on the road," says Brückl, who is also looking for a cook with her partner to expand the culinary offer.

The city of Ravensburg has also come up with something to counteract the vacancy in the city center. In a pop-up store, small companies have the opportunity to present their products for three months. This initiative, which has been running since July 2022, has already helped many start-ups to establish itself in the city. "I usually work in a studio where nobody finds me. Now I'm in the city center and reach a lot more people," says Silke Blank, a goldsmith who benefits from this opportunity. According to swr.de, the favorable rental prices in the pop-up store have given many entrepreneurs to open their own business.

together strongly against the vacancy

business promoter Andreas Senghas sees the new business as a valuable addition to Ravensburg. "The two concepts are different and are located in different streets so that they do not compete directly," he explains. The city does everything possible to increase the attractiveness of the city center and to move people back to shop. The combination of new gastronomic offers and innovative business ideas in the pop-up store could be the key to bring Ravensburg's shopping city back to life.

The anticipation for the new openings is large and the Ravensburger can look forward to an exciting culinary experience. The city shows that it is ready to face the challenges of retail and at the same time find creative solutions to keep the city center alive.
