50 years of district youth ring Rems-Murr: a festival for the youth!
The district youth ring Rems-Murr (KJR) celebrated an impressive anniversary on Friday evening in the Backnanger community center: 50 years of committed work for the youth in the Rems-Murr district! This central point of contact and political advocacy for youth work has established itself as an indispensable support of society. District Administrator Richard Sigel praised the KJR for his tireless efforts to promote democracy. The mayor of Backnang, Maximilian Friedrich, also described the organization as "invaluable value" and recognized the important role that she plays for the approximately 70,000 young people in a circle, such as Stuttgarter News reported.
In the foyer of the community center, numerous connected organizations presented themselves, while the including band Cool Chickpeas provided musical entertainment. The KJR, which emerged from the Jugendringen Backnang and Waiblingen in 1974, has developed into an important player in youth promotion and participation in the past five decades.
diverse offers and inclusion
The core tasks of the KJR include the youth policy advocacy and promoting child and youth welfare. Under the direction of Marcus Lenz, the volunteer chairman, and Marita Trautner, the full -time managing director, around 20 employees are committed to the interests of the young people. Particularly noteworthy is the “Adventure inclusion” project, which brings young people together with and without disabilities and enables them to participate in social life.
In addition, the KJR offers professional orientation that support specially endangered young people who are often not adequately promoted in the school system. With initiatives such as "Use opportunities - create access" and learning coaching, the individual challenges of these young people are specifically discussed.
financing and challenges
The KJR is financed by annual grants from the Rems-Murr district as well as support programs and donations. Despite this support, however, the KJR is constantly faced with challenges, especially with regard to the increasingly complex funding landscape and concealed funding pots. Therefore, donations and support from the outside are essential to continue the valuable work.
The future of the KJR is clearly outlined: the organization plans to continue to actively shape topics such as democracy education and diversity. An increasingly important topic is the support of young people with psychological problems, which is to be focused on increasingly in the coming years.
The volunteers are the backbone of the KJR. On the anniversary evening, outstanding volunteers were honored, including Hartmut Windmüller, who was honored for his life's work. He has been committed to youth welfare in the district for over 40 years and has been active in the youth welfare committee of the district council for 26 years, as well as Stuttgarter Zeitung reported.
