Tragic death of a young rmanin: Stuttgart mourns up for her life

In a tragic incident that touches the hearts of many people, the body of a 26-year-old woman from Rwanda was discovered on Friday, November 8th, in the Neckar near Fellbach-Oeffingen. Jean de Dieu Kamanzi, a representative of the United Nations Volunteers, spoke of "deep sadness" and "incredulous lack of understanding" about the cruel death of the young woman who lived in Stuttgart to complete an apprenticeship as a geriatric nurse. She was known for her joie de vivre and willingness to help, but her dreams ended abruptly when she was missing for several days before her body was found, which confirmed the worst fears of the community, as ZVW reported.

The news of her death has triggered a wave of grief and bewilderness. On Tuesday, November 12th, over 20 people gathered on the landing bridge to express their grief. Most of them belonged to the Rwandian community in Stuttgart, which is now formed to help the family of the deceased and to enable them to have a dignified funeral in their homeland.

Community support and fundraising campaign

In order to cover the costs for the transfer of the body to Rwanda, Jean de Dieu Kamanza has launched a fundraiser on the Gofundme platform. The total costs for the transfer amount to around 12,000 euros, and by November 13, 3,615 euros had already been collected by 106 donations. Kamanzi emphasized that the only family that the deceased had in Rwanda is her heavily pregnant sister, who cannot travel to Germany. The Rwandian community would like to ensure that the young woman with the dignity and love she deserves to rest.

The police have now started a witness call to collect further information about the case. Although a connection with an earlier death in Schwaikheim, which shook the public, is excluded, fear remains noticeable in the community. "The deed frightens many of us," said a member of the Rwandian community, which reflects the concerned atmosphere in the area, such as [Stuttgarter Nachrichten reported] (https://www.stuttgarter-nachrichten.de/inhalt.getetete-in-fellbach-die-t-tigen-t- von-uns-gunschaft-Gemeinschaft-trauert.dcac48-1b72-49e138d8e377.html).

A call to solidarity

The tragic circumstances of the death of the young woman not only triggered grief, but also a strong solidarity within the community. The Rwandian community in Stuttgart is determined to support the family of the deceased and to collect the necessary funds for the funeral. Every contribution counts, and the hope is great that the donations collected will be sufficient to enable the transfer and to have the last honor to the deceased woman.

The shock waves of this incident can be felt in the entire region, and the community is together to help in this difficult time. The grief for the young woman is not only in Stuttgart, but also in Rwanda, where her family is waiting for her return. It is an urgent appeal to everyone who can help to ensure that the memories of the deceased are preserved in love and respect.
