Florian is back: finally at home after difficult fate!

After a dramatic incident in Lampertsweiler, little Florian finally returns home. Just over a year after his almost fatal experience at the Oktoberfest, where he was able to drown in a pond for several minutes, he left the rehabilitation clinic in Vogtareuth ten days ago and is now united with his family.

Florian, whose second birthday was just before, jumped up on October 3, 2023 during the festival, which led to the terrible accident. According to his father, Roland Schulze, Florian is largely doing well. His family, including his partner Manuela Mayer and the one and a half year old twins Adrian and Bastian, is pleased that the boy, although a cold, is back home and shows progress.

The Return of Florian was originally planned for June, but was postponed by months due to changes in his medication against epileptic seizures. His parents, who have lived through a hard time after the serious misfortune, is now facing a new phase of life. "But we made it as a family," said the proud father.

he and his partner experience a great challenge because the stay in the rehabilitation clinic heavily burdened family life. With two nursing services that alternately come to support three times a week from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m., they try to maintain the balance between the care of Florian and the twins. This support is important so that the parents can register their twins in kindergarten.

monitoring and therapy

Florian needs special care because it is still dependent on ventilation. His needs are carefully monitored in a large care bed in the living room; The health insurance companies have even approved longer care times. Due to the personnel bottleneck, however, no round-the-clock care is still possible. Roland Schulze hopes that a nursing service will soon be able to take over the night watch for his son.

Musical therapy and physiotherapeutic support are also on the agenda after being back home. Despite serious restrictions, including the lack of a swallowing reflex and limited eyesight, Florian has not stopped developing. He already shows reactions to the presence of his family, and his twins have an encouraging effect on him.

The twins are the best therapists for him.

Roland Schulze

Even if Flori's state of health is an ongoing challenge, there are small bright spots that give the family hope. Despite his cold, the students were confident about the next few weeks. A big goal: an improved living situation with a ground -level house that can meet your special requirements. Roland Schulze is aware that a move is not due immediately, but could rather happen in the future.

This newly gained freedom was also made possible with the help of donations. Shortly before Easter 2024, a circle of friends organized an online donation campaign on "Go Fund Me". Another account, set up by Caritas Biberach-Saulgau, collected additional funds. "We are grateful to all donors, this support is difficult to put into words," says Schulze.

With the donations, the family was able to buy an extremely practical vehicle in summer. The more than five meter long Toyota Proace Verso offers enough space for the entire family and the necessary medical aids for Florian.

As Florian will end up in the coming weeks, it remains exciting. The family is willing to shape this new phase of life together and to adapt to the unexpected requirements that this special situation brings. For the caring parents, not only the joy of living together, but also the responsibility for the well -being of their son is in the foreground.
