On May 3, 2025, the opening of an exhibition took place in the Bonn Opera, which deals with the renovation and new construction of theater buildings. This event marks an important moment because the opera house celebrates its 60th anniversary on May 5, 2025. The exhibition, which was designed in cooperation with the German Architecture Museum from Frankfurt, illustrated how theater buildings, especially in federalist Germany, obtain historical importance.

A highlight of the exhibition is the construction of the Isar Philharmonic in Munich, which was realized in just two and a half years. For a comparatively low price, a modern concert hall was created, which sets standards both in acoustics and construction. The opening was made by Prof. Dr. Frank Schmitz accompanied, who emphasized the importance of the theater as a place of cultural encounter. The Bonn opera, a masterpiece by the architects Klaus Gessler and Wilfried Beck-Erang, illustrates the democratic claim of the Bonn Republic through their open design.
