84-year-old attacked in Siegburg: police arrest suspects in Sankt Augustin

A house emergency call called the fire and rescue control center of the Rhein-Sieg district early on Saturday morning. An 84-year-old woman in Siegburg-Tange reported an attack in her apartment on Königsberger Straße at 5.05 a.m. The police and emergency services found the elderly woman shortly afterwards, apparently injured. An emergency doctor treated her in her rooms before she was taken to the hospital for further treatment. The circumstances indicated a violent crime, which prompted the Bonn police to use a murder commission, taking into account the forensic medical institute of the Bonn University.

According to the current information, two people rang at the woman's apartment door around 5 a.m. When she entered, one of the intruders threatened the 84-year-old with a gun and demanded money. In addition, she blackmailed an EC card including a PIN from the woman who stubbornly resisted. Ultimately, the perpetrators captivated the senior citizen on a chair and put pressure on her upper body and neck until she revealed the number. The perpetrators then fled from the crime scene while the victim pressed the house emergency call.

The police immediately started a search and was able to arrest a 38-year-old on the open street in Sankt Augustin around 7 a.m. At the request of the public prosecutor, he was demonstrated to a judge who issued an arrest warrant for attempted murder. The murder commission is currently looking for an arrest warrant after the 45-year-old wife of the arrested. The investigation into the incident in Siegburg continues to hold everyone involved.
