AfD European election: Interior dispute over candidates-demand for resignation!

The AfD is in the spotlight shortly before the European elections in 2024, since controversy increases one of its candidates Maximilian Krah. An employee of Krah is accused of having carried out espionage activities, while Petr Bystron is faced in second place with dubious money assumptions and an alleged proximity to the Kremlin. Within the party, European election candidate Hans Neuhoff is now causing a sensation.

Hans Neuhoff, positioned in eighth place in the AfD list for the European elections 2024, is under pressure from members of the AfD district association Bonn, who ask him to put down his city council mandate. The allegation is for refusal to work, since Neuhoff has supposedly not done a job since 2020 by not submitting an application and systematically refusing party work. The members of the AfD district association Bonn criticize Neuhoff's false rate of 68 percent and see this as reputation damage for the association.

The 64-year-old Neuhoff is asked to withdraw both his city council mandate and his candidacy for the European elections 2024 immediately. The application, which was signed by 13 members of the AfD district association, refers to the fact that Neuhoff did not take part in any city council meeting from September 2021 to August 2022. The party members also call for an apology for the supposed refusal to work in Neuhoff.

The decision on the request for resignation against Hans Neuhoff is made at the AfD-Bonn district party day on May 4th. The controversy incidents within the AfD have already led to faults, including the resignation of a politician from the party due to scandals. The future of Neuhoff as a candidate for the European elections remains uncertain, while the AfD is confronted with internal arguments.
