AfD crisis before European elections 2024: Candidate under pressure, no applications for 4 years

The upcoming European elections 2024 causes excitement in the AfD, since employees of the EU parliamentarian Maximilian Krah are suspected of accessing sensitive trade documents. The top candidate Petr Bystron is also suspected of espionage. Internally there is unrest because the European election candidate Hans Neuhoff has not submitted a single application for four years.

Despite his relative unknownity, Hans Neuhoff provides the eighth list of the AfD for the European elections 2024. Interestingly, his party in Bonn does not support him. Members of the AfD district association Bonn have asked Neuhoff to step back from its list and put down his city council mandate. They complain that Neuhoff has not done any work and systematically refused since moving into the Bonn city council in 2020

According to an application for the district party conference of the AfD Bonn, Neuhoff has not participated in any session since 2021 and had a false rate of 68 percent. 13 members of the AfD district association signed the application in which they ask Neuhoff to immediately withdraw from his office and candidacy. You also expect an apology for his refusal to work.

The decision on the request for resignation against Neuhoff is scheduled to be made at the AfD-Bonn district party day on May 4th. So far, Neuhoff has not yet reacted publicly to the allegations. In the middle of scandals, some AfD members have already taken measures against their own party, while a politician has even left the party. The situation remains tense for the AfD before the 2024 European elections.
